I am a senior at Saint Xavier University, majoring in Political Communications and Advocacy with a minor in Women and Gender Studies on the Pre-Law track. I am interested in the internship offered in Chicago because it allows me to conduct legislative research and work with the press team, which interests me.
When I started volunteering, I discovered I had a voice for my community, especially the Latinx community. I speak my mind and fight for those who do not have a voice. I have done different programs throughout the years, such as; the Global Ambassadors Leadership Summit and Future Leaders of Chicago. These programs have taught me leadership skills while working with diverse people worldwide and fighting for what is right. I am also the founder and president of Monarcas, which helps undocumented students raise money for scholarships. As the president, member, and founder of different groups, I have done many speeches and interviews addressing essential issues in my community. One of the skills that have helped me the most is reading, writing, and speaking English and Spanish because it has given me a chance to help the Latin community learn about these issues and know their rights.
Thank you so much for your time and consideration. My resume and references are attached, but if you have any questions or want to contact me, feel free to do so at (773) 280-0566. I look forward to hearing from you.
